On November 18, 2013, the Governor issued a precept calling for a special election to be held in Executive Council District No. 1 on March 11, 2014. A primary election will be held on January 21, 2014.
Filing Period for Declarations of Candidacy AND Declarations of Intent: November 25-December 2, 2013. Candidates must file with the Secretary of State, State House, Room 204, Concord. Candidates filing on the last day must do so in person (filings will NOT be accepted if received in the mail on December 2nd). The Secretary of State's Office is CLOSED on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Candidates filing by nomination papers for the special election MUST submit a Declaration of Intent AND a Statement of Financial Interests - RSA 15-A AND a $25 filing fee.
Nomination Papers must be submitted to the Secretary of State's Office no later than January 21, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.
